A Quick FAQ
What is emFeeds?
emFeeds is a place where electronic musicians can come together. Anyone is welcome to submit an RSS feed, so long as it applies to electronic music appreciation, creation, or is otherwise closely related to an electronic musician. These feeds are then tracked and aggregated on the front page and separate RSS feed is generated for the latest 20 posts.
Any of those social networking features?
Indeed! As of just recently, emFeeds supports users tracking their favorite feeders. That is, any given user can track his or her
favorite emFeeds users by simply clicking the
button below their name on the front page or in their profile. Once a user has one or more favorite feeders, they can then click the
button in their profile to
see an RSS feed of all their favorite users' newest items!
What does RSS mean?
RSS is an acronym which stands for Real Simple Syndication. People commonly refer to RSS in the context of an RSS feed. An RSS feed is, quite simply, a organized version of a site's content. This feed can then be loaded into various RSS readers, Web sites (such as emFeeds), or used in other clever ways to read a site's content without actually having to visit the site. Most every blogging engine out there, be it Blogger, Wordpress, Typo, or some other, provides posts made in RSS format.
